iPhone or Android, No App Store: Installing the Handyman App
It Runs in the Browser
The tech app is a web app. It opens in the phone's browser and can be added to the home screen so it looks and works like a regular app.
Installing It
- Open the tech app link in Safari on iPhone or Chrome on Android.
- Use the browser's add to home screen option.
- Open it from the new icon and log in with the company login and PIN.
Why No App Store Helps
No waiting for downloads, no app store accounts, no forced updates in the middle of a job. Updates arrive the next time the app opens.
Old Phones
Most reasonably recent phones run it fine. If a tech's phone is so old it struggles with a browser, it's probably time for a cheap replacement.
Company Phones vs Personal
Either works. Personal phones are common in small handyman companies; just make sure techs know they can log out when they're off.
