Scheduling Multi-Day Handyman Projects Without Blocking the Board
Projects Are Different
A deck repair that takes three days, a fence run that needs posts set before rails, or a bathroom refresh with drying time between steps doesn't fit in one slot. If you're not careful, a project ties up your best van for a week while small jobs pile up.
Break It Into Visits
Schedule each day of the project as its own visit on the same address. Day one: demo and set posts. Day two: rails and pickets. That way the board shows exactly what each day is.
Use Drying Time
Projects with drying time, such as concrete for posts, mud on drywall or stain on a deck, leave gaps. Fill those gaps with short jobs nearby.
One Van, or Two
Large projects often go faster with two people for a day. Put the helper on the project van for the heavy day, then back on small jobs.
Track Hours Across Days
Each visit logs its own hours and materials, so at the end you can see what the whole project actually took against what you quoted.
